Many people fear the unknown and I admit I was one of them. I didn’t like the idea of failing so I never dare to dip my toes in the water. I can say I was an expert canoeist in this sea called life. Since year 2000, I worked in various Business Process Outsourcing companies in Manila. I can say it’s a fairly lucrative job. And I was fortunate to be a part of the “big ones” here in the Philippines – the room for growth and employee benefits were robust. After getting married and having kids, I realized that the benefits I get from being an employee were not worth every single minute I am away from my children. So, a couple of years ago, I decided to take a risk and conquer my fear. I left my job in the advent of global recession. I knew in my heart that it was the right thing to do. I had nothing except hope and courage. I knew I had to move forward and that there was no looking back. This was a breakthrough in my life and it was a liberating experience.
For months, I looked for opportunities to work from home. I was lucky to find my first client, an Australian small business owner who exposed me to the different facets of virtual administrative assistance. Equipped with my previous knowledge and experience in customer service, research and office administration, I was able to handle my job well. My client was generous and she understood my situation as a mother of two preschoolers and a wife to a husband who works overseas. But, as the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end”…my client needed to let me go and it was a hard business decision she said. It was a difficult goodbye because we became very good friends.
I thought I would never work with a fantastic team again. Not until I became a part of Bill Baren Coaching. The people here at BBC are extremely awesome. I admire and respect everyone in the team. Their passion to serve their clients and drive to succeed is contagious. Most businesses aim to earn money so they can reach out and help other people. But here at Bill Baren Coaching, it’s the other way around. Money becomes their reward for helping people reach for their dreams.
I am fortunate to be a part of a company whose primary goal is to create a difference in the world. I am glad to be a part of Bill Baren Coaching.
