Gazelle Garner
It probably won’t come as much of a surprise if I told you that my college degree did not open the doors to my 'dream' job fresh out of school.I took temp job after temp job until one of them led me to an offer of a full time position working for an asset management firm. Not exactly where I expected to land.
After three years of working long hours and wondering where this job would ultimately lead, I began formulating a plan that would allow me to pursue a passion that had slowly been taking shape: designing living spaces. I made the decision to go back to school to pursue Interior Architecture & Design through a continuing education program at UC Berkeley.
I subsequently worked in architecture firms, design companies, and later began working for myself as a freelance/consultant for architects and designers. I found this work to be fulfilling and enjoyed the variety that came from working on different projects and with different teams.
Over the course of the past few years, my focus has shifted to one of wanting to make a difference on a more global level. What that looks like, I'm not entirely sure yet. I only know that for the time being, I have decided to take a step back and re-assess the impact of filling homes with building materials and furnishings that negatively impact our planet and tax our natural resources.
How I arrived at Bill Baren Coaching?
I set out to find a job where I could surround myself with positive individuals who are working at making a difference in the lives of others. I feel like I have found that here and I look forward to learning more about how to positively impact others and ultimately find ways to inspire others to co-create such an environment.
