Soul of Success

Intro Continued
This is the way I see success - if you resonate with having a successful business, you will have a successful business.   It's more then just a belief and it's more then confidence. Resonance is about a deep knowing. My work is about helping entrepreneurs create that resonance by eliminating or minimizing what's standing in the way of it.

As I generally have a waiting list for 1-on-1 clients, the best way to experience the positive benefits of what I do is to take one of my workshops, where I go through a system that breaks down your business into smaller components and then create your own personal resonance with each one. It's like having the inner knowing that what you want IS going to happen. It's a done deal.

Finding Your Soul on the Road to Success

by Alan Roby

I admit it. I'm a bit of a political news junkie. Part of every Sunday morning is spent in front of the television listening to pundits and politicians pontificating on who said what in the previous week, what they really meant when they said it, and what all of it likely means for the future of the republic. Until next week, anyway, when it will all look different.

Recently I was watching one of these programs when a well known former speech writer made an interesting comment about the 2 major parties (and I keep these people and parties nameless so as to not invite political discourse into Coach Talk, because that is not the point and you can easily get that kind of thing elsewhere). So borrowing from our friend William Shakespeare, let us remember "Romeo and Juliet" and refer to the parties as the Montagues and the Capulets.

Here is a paraphrasing of what the guest said:

"I think the Montagues have a tough time this year. The Capulets are trying to figure out which of their candidates will take them to success, take them to the White House. The Montagues are trying to re-find their soul. It is a much tougher thing to find your soul than it is to find success. So I think the Montagues are really going to be struggling for a while."

The implication of course is that finding one's soul is a prerequisite to finding success. And I agree with that, if we define success as that condition in which you and the deepest expressions of your soul are given a chance to show up in the world. I assert--and I think the speaker was implying--that it is in fact easier to find success (however you might define that word), when it is a natural result of our giving expression to those qualities that reside in our souls.

My wish for you is that you take the time to listen for the voice of your soul and let it inform who you are, what you do, and how you show up in the world.

Now if only there were a Sunday morning show about that.

Exercise
Write down 10 words that you think capture the essence of who you are. Then write down ways in which you are currently giving expression to each of these qualities, whether through your work, your hobbies, or in your relationships. What do you notice? What would you like more of?

Quotes
Good for the body is the work of the body, good for the soul the work of the soul, and good for either the work of the other.
~Henry David Thoreau

What is soul? It's like electricity - we don't really know what it is, but it's a force that can light a room.
~Ray Charles

One may have a blazing hearth in one's soul and yet no one ever come to sit by it. Passers-by see only a wisp of smoke from the chimney and continue on the way.
~Vincent Van Gogh
