To-Do List a Mile Long

As you may know, we at Bill Baren Coaching recently put on an Anti-Goal System for Business Success workshop in San Francisco. One of the points that stuck in my mind from that day is the power you get when you focus on doing fewer things.

For me, as for most of the conscious business owners I know, we have a to-do list a mile long.  And its easy to get caught in a trap of thinking that more is better - if I can do this mile long list, then I can tackle that mile long list over there, etc.  Problem is, this is what keeps me on the treadmill of focusing on the day-to-day and not stepping back to see the bigger picture, and picking my actions from there.

So I've started to only pick 2 or 3 intentions for the year -- and for the day and week -- rather than try to do the entire list. When I am willing to take small steps to make the intentions reality, rather than trying to do too much all at once, I get more done, with more ease and clarity.  I feel complete at the end of the day.

Simplify a limited focus with small steps, repeated over time.

This is really the key to getting what I want, and it also makes life much easier.  Give it a try yourself.  I would love to know how you do with this.

Warmly,

Kris
